Planning and designing of an apartment in a new project in Ramat Aviv.
The client wished to have a design that was modern, colourful and warm and reflected her travels in a delicate way. She required that the layout maximise the size of the living room as well as the master bedroom, while making sure there is a guest bedroom and office space.
By changing the whole layout of the apartment, we decided to open up the living/dining and kitchen areas by moving the master bedroom to a different location, allowing more open and instinctive circulation and feeling of space. The kitchen island was kept at a reasonable size for it to be practical while not taking over the space.
As part of this major change, we completely remodelled the master bed and bathroom. We decided to place the bathroom behind the bed headboard wall, surrounded by glass doors and panels, in order to accentuate the feeling of size and depth of the room.
Great attention was placed on using every square centimetre of space in the apartment and adding a maximum amount of storage. All closets were custom designed and the main materials used were natural oak parquet and concrete looking tiles for the bathrooms. The colour touch in the kitchen and office space are petrol with touches of earthy red-terracota tones and aim to ground the space as well as give it depth and life.
